LMC Confirms Death of Nasarawa united player,calls for Autopsy The league management Company (LMC) has confirmed the report of the death of Chineme Martins ,a Defender with Nasarawa united ,who slumped during the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 23 against Katsina united in Lafia. The player was attended to by medics of the two clubs when he slumped and was later rushed to Daihatu- Araf specialist Hospital in Lafia where he was later pronounced dead. LMC Chairman, Shehu Dikko in a statement said " the League regret the passing of the young man in his prime . " we commiserate with Nasarawa united and the immediate family of the late player",Shehu Dikko said . The LMC expects that there would be a standard autopsy to establish the cause of the player's death. "It is hoped that the findings of the autopsy would  inform subsequent measures,if any that has not been addressed by the existing standard procedure",the LMC state...

Coronavirus: English Premier league Bans Handshakes Between Players and match officials The English Premier league has banned players and match officials from shaking hands until further notice in measures aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus. The premier league adopted the measures based on medical advice following the escalation of coronavirus infections in England. A Statement from the premier league said: the premier league fair-play handshake will not take place between  players and match officials from this weekend until further notice based on medical advice. Fixtures lists and kick-off times remain unaffected as it stands and there are currently no plans to stop fans from attending matches .
