CAF postpones 2020 CHAN Until further notice due to Coronavirus outbreak The confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the 2020 Total African nations championship (CHAN) which was due to be held in Cameroon as part of the global effort to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. CAF said in an official statement on Tuesday 17 march ,2020,that the decision was arrived at after wide consultation and on the spot check by a medical team sent to Cameroon to assess the situation on the ground. "Following the growing concern of the Coronavirus and the report of the recently concluded medical inspection visit to the host country of the Total CHAN,Cameroon 2020,CAF Emergency committee decided today to postpone the competition until further notice. CAF Administration will propose the potential new dates in due time depending on the Improvement of the situation. The CHAN tournament in Cameroon was to begin on the 4th of April,2020.

Coronavirus outbreak: UEFA postponed Champions League and Europa league finals until 24& 27 June,2020 UEFA has postponed the champions league and Europa league finals Until   June due to the Coronavirus outbreak . The finals had been scheduled to take place in May,but the dates have since been revised . The champions league final will now be held on June 27,three days after the Europa league final,which has been postponed until June 24. The Coronavirus pandemic has already disrupted the two European competitions this season,with fixtures currently suspended.

2020 Copa America postponed until summer of 2021 due to Coronavirus pandemic This year's Copa America has been postponed until 2021 due to fear over the spread of the Coronavirus,the south American football Confederation (CONMEBOL)said on Tuesday . The tournament had originally been scheduled to take place from June 12 to July to 12 this year.

Breaking : Euro 2020 postponed to 11th June to 11th July 2021 following Coronavirus pandemic UEFA has postponed Euro 2020 until the summer of 2021 to allow European leagues more time to complete their seasons amid the Coronavirus pandemic. The news was first confirmed by the Norwegian FA on social media .the competition will be played between June 11 and July 11,2021. The decision comes after UEFA held conference calls with its 55 member association,the board of the European club Association and the board of the European leagues. However,leagues across the continent have been halted in response to the Coronavirus outbreak,which has seen more than 169,000 people become infected around the world . The world Health organization says Europe is now the epicenter of the pandemic,which originated in China .

Edo 2020 National Sports Festival postponed till further notice  due to  Coronavirus fear Minister of youth and sports Development,Sunday Dare has announced the postponement of the 2020 National sports Festival . The festival,which was earlier scheduled to start this weekend in Edo state,was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Dare announced the postponement following a joint briefing he had with the minister of health and the president Muhammad Buhari on Tuesday . "Following the briefing of Mr.president from my self and the minister of state for health on COVID 19,Mr.president approved the immediate postponement of Edo  sports Festival to a future date ," reads a tweet on Dare's Twitter handle on Tuesday morning.

NBA: Zion Williamson to Cover salaries of Pelicans arena workers New Orleans pelicans rookie star Zion Williamson has pledged to cover salaries for workers at the team's smoothie king center for 30 days following the NBA's action to suspend game play for the 2019-20 season. Williamson took to his Instagram account to announce the donations and his appreciation for the smoothie king center staff since his arrival in New Orleans after being selected No 1  overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. Williamson wrote: "the people of New Orleans have been incredibly welcoming and supportive since I was drafted by the pelicans last June,and some of the most special people I have met are those who work at smoothie king center.these are they people who make our games possible,creating the perfect environment for our fans and everyone involved in the organization.
