Tokyo 2020 Olympics: IOC,Japan Confirm New Date for Delayed Games The Tokyo Olympics Games will hold from 23 July to 8 August after being postponed for a year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The new date was announced by the International Olympic Committee's(IOC)executive board following a meeting on Monday . The Olympics will still be called Tokyo 2020 despite taking place in 2021. It is the first time in the Olympic Games' 124- year modern history that they have been delayed,though they were cancelled altogether in 1916 because of world war 1 and again in 1940 and 1944 for world war 2 which affected the summer Games in Moscow and Los Angeles in 1980 and 1984 respectively.

CAF: AFCON 2021 To Go Ahead As Planned The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stated that the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations will go ahead as planned, despite the current coronavirus epidemic. The spread of COVID-19 has put literally billions of people under lockdown and brought an end to virtually all sporting activity, with football and the Olympics the highest profile casualties of the current crisis. CAF recently announced the postponement of the 2020  African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon,but as yet they have no plans to do the same with the next AFCON, which will also be held in the central -west African country in January and February 2021.

Guardiola ,made his donation to the medical college of Barcelona and the Angel soler Daniel foundation. Spain is one of the worst-hit countries in Europe with more than 2,696 people dead and nearly  40,000 infected. It will go towards buying medical equipment and protective material for hospital staff in catalonia .

English Football suspended Until At Least April 30 The  FA has suspended All Professional Football in England until at least April 30. The decision was taken doing the emergency meeting between the premier league clubs,but the 2019/2020 season will be extended indefinitely. It has been decided that the premier league,the EFL and Women's Football will continue to be suspended until April 30 "at the earliest". The deadline for returning to action has also been extended indefinitely as part of an agreement with the FA.

NPFL season suspended till further notice over coronavirus outbreak Nigeria professional football league (NPFL) has been suspended till further notice in line with global health preventive protocol against coronavirus  . In suspending remaining league matches,the league management company(LMC) said it would review the decision after consulting the nation's health authoritie,namely ,the Federal ministry of health and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Matchday 25 fixtures were concluded on Wednesday and the LMC said the decision was to conform with the guidelines for containment of the spread of the global pandemic.
