CAF postpones 2020 CHAN Until further notice due to Coronavirus outbreak


The confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the 2020 Total African nations championship (CHAN) which was due to be held in Cameroon as part of the global effort to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

CAF said in an official statement on Tuesday 17 march ,2020,that the decision was arrived at after wide consultation and on the spot check by a medical team sent to Cameroon to assess the situation on the ground.

"Following the growing concern of the Coronavirus and the report of the recently concluded medical inspection visit to the host country of the Total CHAN,Cameroon 2020,CAF Emergency committee decided today to postpone the competition until further notice.

CAF Administration will propose the potential new dates in due time depending on the Improvement of the situation.

The CHAN tournament in Cameroon was to begin on the 4th of April,2020.

LMC Fines  Abia Warrior 5 million Naira over disruption in matchday 20 fixture against Enyimba in Umuahia The league Management company (LMC) have fined Abia Warriors 5,000,000 over crowd disruption of the matchday 20 fixture against Enyimba in Unuahia . The fine is expected to be paid by Abia Warriors within 10 working days in a summary jurisdiction exercised by the LMC. Abia Warriors will also play a minimum of their next three consecutive home matches behind closed doors with no fans before a possible review which can only be carried out if the LMC is satisfied that conditions which led to the disruption has been completely eliminated. Out of the 5 million naira fine ,Enyimba will receive 2.5 million naira as compensation for injuries and damages to property .
