The premier league clubs convened on Friday morning as the sport continues to grapple with the unprecedented coronavirus crisis gripping the world . Tokyo 2020 Olympics: IOC,Japan Confirm New Date for Delayed Games The Tokyo Olympics Games will hold from 23 July to 8 August after being postponed for a year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The new date was announced by the International Olympic Committee's(IOC)executive board following a meeting on Monday . The Olympics will still be called Tokyo 2020 despite taking place in 2021. It is the first time in the Olympic Games' 124- year modern history that they have been delayed,though they were cancelled altogether in 1916 because of world war 1 and again in 1940 and 1944 for world war 2 which affected the summer Games in Moscow and Los Angeles in 1980 and 1984 respectively.

CAF: AFCON 2021 To Go Ahead As Planned The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has stated that the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations will go ahead as planned, despite the current coronavirus epidemic. English Football suspended Until At Least April 30 The  FA has suspended All Professional Football in England until at least April 30. The decision was taken doing the emergency meeting between the premier league clubs,but the 2019/2020 season will be extended indefinitely. It has been decided that the premier league,the EFL and Women's Football will continue to be suspended until April 30 "at the earliest". The deadline for returning to action has also been extended indefinitely as part of an agreement with the FA.
