Enugu FA chairman Chidi Ofor Okenwa passed away at the age of 50 The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the dead of NFF Executive committee Member ,Chief Chidi Ofor Okenwa. The Enugu FA Board chairman who confirmed death on Tuesday morning after suffering Leukemia which resulted to his death. NFF president ,Amaju  Pinnick in a glowing tribute to Mr Okenwa who was a member of the NFF Executive Committee described his demise as a terrible blow . "This is a huge shock .Each and everyone of us on the NFF Board is in absolute grief .Chidi Ofor Okenwa was a loyal solider of Nigeria football and was a leading member of our intellectual wing.this is a terrible blow," pinnick said . Chief Chidi Ofor Okenwa was an astute football administrator who also served as Chairman of Nigerian National League(NNL).
LMC, NPFL Clubs meet online,ponder season ending options NPFL clubs on Thursday evening met through digal video conferencing with the leadership of the league management company(LMC) during which varying options to concluding the suspended 2019/20 season were deliberated on. Both parties also resolved that whenever the league would resume, all the players ,coaches and backroom staffs are to be tested for COVID-19 among other strategies to be adopted to guarantee the well being and health of Everyone Involved with the NPFL .    The clubs also affirmed their commitment to paying salaries &wages of their players and officials during the period & have no intention of cutting down salaries & wages of players under the current circumstances but are even thinking of how to keep supporting them .    The meeting also agreed that should there be any exceptional support to NPFL, the privately funded clubs in the NPFL  will get priority attention in th...

 Bundesliga Set to become first major European leagues to return The German Bundesliga is set to become the first major European league to return following the Coronavirus pandemic . The proposal, that still need to be given the green light by the German Government,would see matches return from May 9. German football Federation(DFL) CEO, Christian Seifert  said:  "the Bundlesliga is ready to resume ,no matter whether on May 9 or a later date .but it's not up to us to find a date .the political decision makers decide . Matches would be limited to having just 332 people in each stadium with DFL estimating it will require in the region of 25,000 tests to check on players on a weekly basis .

UEFA Approves Guidelines eligibility for participation to UEFA Club Competition for next season The UEFA Executive Committee has approves the Guidelines on eligibility for participation in the UEFA Champions league and Europa League for next season . The Executive Committee held a video conference meeting today to discuss on the issue affecting the world (Coronavirus) and also the scenario of qualifying to the two UEFA competitions for next season which they insist must be on merit according to the league table standing. UEFA also said that the final determination eligible places for the UEFA Champions league and Europa league should be confirmed by the relevant competent bodies at domestic level .

Barcelona to sell Nou Camp title  rights to help fight Coronavirus pandemic Barcelona are to give a sponsor naming rights to the Nou Camp for the first time and donate all the revenue to fighting coronavirus . The stadium -which is known as Camp Nou in Catalan- has never had another name since opening in 1957. The LA liga champions have given the title rights to the Barca foundation,who will find a sponsor for 2020-21. "Revenue will be used to fund research projects and the worldwide fight against pandemic,"the club said . " FC Barcelona and the Barca foundation consider it a necessity that at this time of humanitarian crisis, the institution should use all its resources to fight against the coronavirus pandemic and its consequence." Barcelona did not have a shirt sponsor  until 2010 when they signed a deal with the Qatar foundation,although charity Unicef had appeared on their shirts from 2006.

Gernot  Rohr confirms New Contract  from the NFF Super Eagles coach,Gernot Rohr has confirmed a new contract offer from the Nigeria football federation (NFF). Rohr's current contract will expire in June. however,the Franco-German is keen on continue as the Super Eagles coach . "I already discussed  with the president about my future since I am at the end of the contract.the contract will end on June 30," Rohr told Girondis4ever.com . President of the Nigeria football federation,Amaju Pinnick also recently stated that they are willing to keep the German coach but he must be willing to accept all the conditions in the new contract. Gernot Rohr led the super Eagles to a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations at Egypt.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets Guard Spencer Dinwiddle Acquires Nigerian passport Nigerian-American Brooklyn Nets Guard Spencer Dinwiddle has confirmed his intentions to acquire a Nigerian passport so as to be eligible to play for the D'Tigers at the 2021 summer Olympics Games . Dinwiddle who did not receive a Team USA Olympic invite -in spite of finishing 10th in All-Star voting for Eastern conference guards and recording a career-high 41 points in December will now join Nigeria roster under mike Brown that also includes Al-Farouq Aminu(Orlando Magic),Josh Okogie (  minnesota Timberwolves)and Chimezie Metu(San Antonio Spurs ) . By obtaining a Nigerian passport,Dinwiddle will become eligible to play for the D'Tigers in the 2021 summer Olympics.
